Beyond  monetary  factors,  political  unrest  inFrance and NATO talks following a breach of Polish airspace further pressuredthe currency. As a result, the EUR/USD pair slipped by 0.3% to 1.1707, whilethe  EUR/GBP  rate  traded  0.2%  lower  at  0.8650,  with  sterling  supported  bystronger UK consumer spending in August.
