Crude oil prices rose on Friday, supported by expectations of a U.S. Federal
Reserve rate cut next week, which could boost economic growth and energy
demand. Ongoing geopolitical tensions, including stalled U.S.-Russia talks on
Ukraine and the prospect of U.S. action in Venezuela threatening its 1.1 million
bpd output, also added to the upside. Hence, Brent crude added 0.8% to settle
at $63.75 per barrel.
