Crude oil prices closed at their lowest since February 2021 on Tuesday,
pressured by oversupply concerns and growing optimism over a potential
Russia–Ukraine peace deal that could lead to eased sanctions. Reports of
progress in talks and U.S. security assurances for Kyiv boosted hopes of an
end to the war. Hence, Brent crude dropped by 2.7% to settle at $58.92 per
barrel.
