The sudden resignation of French Prime MinisterSébastien Lecornu, confirmed just hours after the new government was formed,heightened uncertainty and raised the risk of snap elections. Meanwhile, ECBChief Economist Philip Lane hinted that rising downside risks could justify aslight rate cut, reinforcing expectations of a wait-and-see stance.As a result, the EUR/USD pair edged 0.5% lower at 1.1678, as investorssought safety in the dollar, while the EUR/GBP rate slipped by 0.2% to 0.8695.
